The Equipment Operator A position with the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs places you at the center of transportation, delivery, and maintenance activities. You support residents, staff, and daily operations of Delaware Valley Veterans' Home through safe driving and reliable service. It plays a key role in ensuring safe travel, reliable equipment use, and consistent support for day to day operations. As an Equipment Operator A, you will perform the following duties:Vehicle Operation: Operate passenger cars, vans, buses, and similar vehicles to transport residents and complete facility tripsMaterial Transport: Move supplies, mail, equipment, and other items through local and long-distance deliveriesMaintenance Work: Complete hauling tasks, operate snow removal equipment, and support general maintenance activitiesEquipment Care: Perform safety checks, minor repairs, cleaning, and preventive maintenance on vehicles and toolsGeneral Tasks: Assist with loading, unloading, record keeping, cleaning work areas, and properly using hand and power toolsSafety Compliance: Maintain a valid Class C license and use personal protective equipment when requiredInterested in learning more? Check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices.Required Experience, Training & EligibilityQualifications Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:Six months experience in the operation and maintenance of large vans, buses and single-chassis trucks with a gross vehicle weight of 10,001 pounds or more; orAny equivalent combination of experience and training.Special Requirement:You must be in possession of a valid Class C Pennsylvania driver's license.Additional Requirement:You must be able to perform essential job functions.Legal Requirements:A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
