Job Title

Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical (Charge RN, Nights)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift | Onsite | 12-Hour Shifts (1830–0700)

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as Charge RN on a 42-bed Medical Surgical unit, overseeing unit operations during the night shift
• Provide direct patient care when staffing needs require, with a standard nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6–7
• Collaborate within a dyad care model, working alongside a dedicated CNA and a virtual nurse to coordinate patient care
• Manage patients with medical, surgical, and orthopedic diagnoses; administer and monitor Heparin drips as indicated
• Utilize centralized telemetry monitoring and coordinate with on-floor Respiratory Therapy available 24 hours
• Float to PCU or Burn unit as needed; adhere to weekend and holiday scheduling requirements as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Valid driver's license required at time of submittal
• Ability to pass a required open-book skills exam with a minimum score of 90% during orientation
• Compliance with facility fingernail policy: artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care areas

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a Medical Surgical or similar acute care setting
• Previous charge nurse or leadership experience on an inpatient unit
• Familiarity with telemetry monitoring and virtual care models
