Our solutions support the engines running the aerospace, energy and defense industries around the world.We're looking for a Machinist to program, set up, and operate CNC and manual machining equipment used in the repair and manufacturing of critical aerospace components. In this role, you will machine precision parts, perform equipment maintenance, and ensure all work meets quality and safety standards.At Chromalloy, your work directly supports aviation safety and reliability. What you do here has real-world impact—every day.Shift: 1st shift, Monday-Friday 6:45am-3:30pmWhat You'll Be DoingSet up and operate CNC and manual machine tools safely and efficientlyWrite, edit, and troubleshoot CNC programsMachine precision components using horizontal boring mills, vertical lathes, engine lathes, mills, grinders, and drill pressesPerform simple to complex machine setups with minimal supervisionMonitor machine feeds, speeds, and cutting conditions throughout productionInterpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to produce parts within toleranceCalculate dimensions and tolerances using shop math and measurement toolsPerform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting on machining equipmentInspect completed work to verify conformance to quality requirementsMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work areaWhat We're Looking ForHigh school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.2+ years of manual machining experience.Ability to clearly communicate in English, including speaking, reading, writing, and understanding technical documentation.Experience setting up and operating CNC and manual machine toolsWorking knowledge of machine tool operation, setup, and maintenanceAbility to read engineering drawings and use precision measuring instrumentsUnderstanding of G-Code and M-Code programmingBasic computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook and other Microsoft Office applicationsNice to HaveTechnical or trade school education/certification in machining or a related fieldExperience with Fanuc controlsExperience operating O-M vertical turning lathes (VTLs)Experience with Sip, K&T, Shibaura, or Ikegai milling machinesManual machining experienceWork Environment & Physical RequirementsManufacturing environment with exposure to machining equipment, moving mechanical parts, noise, and industrial hazardsFrequently stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and use hands for equipment operation and material handlingFrequently use close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perceptionRegularly lift and move up to 50 poundsOccasionally push or pull materials using handling equipment up to 500 poundsMust successfully pass required hearing and vision examinationsThis position may require work hours outside of the regularly scheduled hours to meet operational needs. This may include work during evenings, weekends, and/or holidays. Additional work hours are assigned based on business requirements.
