VP, Controller

CV Resources is partnering with a Bellevue client on their search for a new Controller. Our client is a rapidly growing, private equity-backed organization seeking an experienced Controller to lead and scale its accounting function. This is a highly visible leadership opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys balancing strategic initiatives with hands‑on operational leadership. Based in Bellevue, WA, this is a full‑time, onsite position. The Controller will oversee all aspects of accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls, audit management, and multi‑entity accounting while leading and developing a growing accounting team. This individual will work closely with executive leadership and business partners to support continued expansion, strengthen financial processes, and build scalable infrastructure. What You'll Do Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes across multiple entities. Prepare and review consolidated financial statements in accordance with GAAP. Oversee general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, accruals, fixed assets, and intercompany transactions. Maintain and enhance accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls. Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors and tax advisors. Coordinate annual audits, tax support, and regulatory compliance activities. Partner with FP&A on budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, and management reporting. Develop KPI reporting and financial analytics to support executive decision‑making. Lead, mentor, and develop a high‑performing accounting team while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Drive process improvements, automation initiatives, and accounting systems optimization. Support ERP enhancements and help maximize reporting efficiency through financial systems and technology. Manage accounting for multiple legal entities and support acquisitions, integrations, and continued organizational growth. Qualifications Active CPA license required. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. 10+ years of progressive accounting experience. 5+ years of leadership experience as a Controller, Assistant Controller, VP of Accounting, or similar role. Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls. Experience managing multi‑entity accounting and consolidations. Proven success leading external financial audits. Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite or comparable platforms. Advanced Excel skills and strong financial systems proficiency. Demonstrated ability to lead and develop accounting teams. Preferred Experience Private equity‑backed organizations. Multi‑location or multi‑site operating environments. Healthcare services, professional services, retail, or other complex multi‑entity businesses. Public accounting background.
