Market Development Representative

Position will be responsible for providing education and information to physicians and providers at assigned facilities and hospitals that frame opportunities for additional awareness and referrals. The approach will be directed by the organizational strategic plan and key service lines business plans. Additionally, the Representative will support the organization’s retention efforts through communication of concerns raised by physicians as they relate to hospital operations and physician referral development. Uncovers, progresses and implements organization-driven business development opportunities. Essential Key Job Responsibilities Understand and execute growth goals to achieve monthly, quarterly and annual metrics. Provide weekly, monthly and quarterly reports to leadership and provide input into the operating reports on sales encounters and activities tracking to predetermined goals in specified timelines; develop with leadership a bridge plan if metrics are not being achieved. Allocate majority of time to building existing and new relationships with physicians or key individuals; proactively identify needs and present ways that Hospital/Market service lines can add value to physician/client service needs. Research physician clients, gather market and physician/specialty information from internal sources, research needs and growth initiatives of service line; create physician/practice profile prior to initial visit. Perform sales calls and visits with community physicians, their office staffs on a routine and consistent basis, within guidelines set by the VP of Market Development. Coordinate internal sales activity with others responsible for sales efforts such as laboratory, radiology, out‑patient services etc., enabling appropriate call schedules. Maintain excellent working relationships with all physicians and their staff, facilitate problem resolution as identified by the client while promoting and utilizing the most efficient and appropriate communication tools and developing an approach that addresses individual physician preferences. Report issues to the VP of Market Development, service line director and hospital leadership to identify root cause and problem resolution; respond as directed by administration to situations requiring immediate attention. Participate in monthly meetings led by the VP of Market Development with service line directors and key hospital personnel to coordinate activities, share visit information gathered and set target lists for future sales activities; maintain issues and status completion log from each meeting and provide appropriate follow‑up with internal and external customers. Maintain encounter file of visits and discussions to enable prompt follow‑up and monitoring utilizing account‑management platform. Job Requirements In addition to bringing humankindness to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following: Bachelors degree. Equivalent experience (4 years professional level) may be considered in lieu of degree. Min of three (3) years sales experience preferably in physician recruitment and/or medical/pharmaceutical sales. Physical requirements: sedentary work – prolonged periods of sitting and exert up to 10 lbs force occasionally.
