FOOD SERVICE WORKER/CASHIER (FULL TIME AND PART TIME) We are hiring immediately for full time and part time Food Service Worker/ Cashier positions. Location: Jay Schools – 1976 West Tyson Road, Portland, IN 47371. Online applications accepted only. Schedule: Full-time and part-time schedules; Monday through Friday, hours may vary. School schedule. More details upon interview. Requirement: Prior food service experience is preferred. Perks: Training will be provided, and no weekends or holidays. Fixed Pay Rate: $14.00 per hour. Internal Employee Referral Bonus Available. Job Summary Performs cashiering duties, including general food service work. Maintains sanitation standards in the preparation, service and dining room facilities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform prep work such as washing, peeling, cutting and seeding fruits and vegetables. Weigh ingredients. Carry pans, kettles and trays of food between stations, stove and refrigerator while following safety standards. Distribute supplies, utensils and portable equipment. Store foods in designated areas per wrapping, dating and safety procedures. Clean work areas, equipment and utensils. Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety requirements. Use approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures and portion control. Serve customers friendly and efficiently following outlined steps of service. Interact with customers and resolve complaints in a friendly, service‑oriented manner. Relay relevant information to supervisor. Enter sales into the cash register and ensure accurate recording of purchases. Make change, accept cards and other acceptable payment methods. Issue receipts to customers. Follow standard procedures for issuing cash refunds. Maintain cash drawer compliance with overage/shortage standards. Replenish condiments, beverages and supplies while maintaining service area cleanliness. Perform other duties as assigned.
