Respiratory Therapist

Position: Respiratory Therapist- Geriatrics Salary Range: $40 - $42 per hour Hours: 35 hours per week, 3/12 hour day shifts with rotating weekends Facility: This position is located at a healthcare facility that specializes in providing care for geriatric patients. The facility offers short stay rehabilitation services for patients transitioning from a hospital stay, as well as long term care for those who require ongoing support. The facility also has a dedicated ventilator unit for patients who require respiratory support. Job Description We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Respiratory Therapist to join our team at our geriatric care facility. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will play a crucial role in providing respiratory care for our patients. Your main responsibility will be to assess, treat, and monitor patients with respiratory disorders, with a focus on the geriatric population. Responsibilities Conduct respiratory assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for patients Administer and monitor respiratory treatments and therapies, such as oxygen therapy, nebulizer treatments, and chest physiotherapy Monitor and maintain patients on mechanical ventilators, including troubleshooting and making adjustments as needed Educate patients and their families on respiratory care and disease management Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care for patients Document all patient care activities accurately and in a timely manner Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field Current state license to practice as a Respiratory Therapist Minimum of 2 years of experience working with geriatric patients Experience working in a long term care or rehabilitation setting preferred Strong knowledge of respiratory disorders and treatments Ability to work independently and as part of a team Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Basic computer skills and ability to use electronic medical records Benefits Competitive salary within the range of $40 - $42 per hour 35-hour work week with 3/12 hour day shifts and rotating weekends Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance Retirement savings plan with employer match Paid time off and holidays Continuing education opportunities and professional development support Supportive and collaborative work environment If you are a dedicated and compassionate Respiratory Therapist with a passion for working with geriatric patients, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
