Senior Water Project Manager

We are seeking an experienced Senior Water Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of complex water and wastewater infrastructure projects from initial planning through to completion. This is a senior role requiring strong technical understanding, commercial awareness and the ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams across a range of programmes. You will manage projects involving water treatment, supply, networks, pumping stations, reservoirs or related civil engineering assets, ensuring they are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.


Your responsibilities will include defining project scope, objectives, budgets, programmes and delivery strategies; overseeing design development, procurement, construction and commissioning activities; and managing risks, issues, change control and project documentation. You will develop and maintain effective relationships with clients, contractors, consultants, regulatory bodies and internal stakeholders, providing clear progress updates and leading project meetings. You will also monitor financial performance, resource requirements and key performance indicators, taking corrective action where necessary to maintain cost, schedule and quality targets.


Applicants should have substantial experience managing major water or wastewater projects, ideally within a regulated utilities, consultancy, construction or infrastructure environment. A relevant degree or equivalent professional experience in civil engineering, project management or a related discipline is required, together with proven knowledge of health and safety, environmental compliance, construction contracts and project controls. Professional accreditation or recognised project management certification would be advantageous. You will be a confident communicator and capable leader, with strong negotiation, problem-solving and decision-making skills. The ability to manage competing priorities, motivate project teams and deliver results in a complex, changing environment is essential.
