About your Team:The Technical Operations (TOPS) Department is seeking a Observability Engineer to maintain and enhance the observability ecosystem (Prometheus, Alertmanager, Alerta, ELK Stack, and various operational tools) and to improve the reliability and automation of production systems. You'll partner with TOPS analysts, SMEs, and development teams to onboard new telemetry, build operational tools, and unify monitoring across our on-premises and cloud infrastructure.This is Hybrid role (4 days in office /1 days remote)What will be your responsibilities within IBKR: Develop tools, scripts, and REST API integrations that let operations teams query production systems and automate routine workAggregate and analyze metrics and logs across sources using the ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana) and set up actionable alerts where necessaryMaintain and optimize Prometheus, Alertmanager, and monitoring tools including alert rules, routing, and integrations Coordinate with development and application teams to onboard new systems, metrics, and logs, and provide documentation and guidance on monitoring best practicesContribute to incident response and post-incident reviews, driving reliability improvements to reduce recurring issuesWhat required skill’s you need:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field, or equivalent practical experience2+ years in SRE, DevOps, or technical operations roles supporting high-availability production environmentsProficiency in Python (scripting, automation) and in PromQL and KQLREST API development/integration experience and a track record of building secure, modern operational toolsHands-on experience with Linux and the ELK stackExperience with Prometheus/Alertmanager or comparable monitoring/logging toolsPreferred Skills:Working knowledge of AWS, Kubernetes, and streaming platforms such as KafkaFamiliarity with CI/CD and Infrastructure-as-CodeTo be successful in this position, you will have the following: A strong desire to expand your financial and technical knowledge base.Self-motivated and able to handle tasks with minimal supervision.Superb analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent collaboration and communication skills.Outstanding time management skills.Company Benefits:Competitive salary, annual performance-based bonus and stock grantRetirement plan 401(k) with competitive company matchExcellent health and wellness benefits, including medical, dental, and vision benefits.
