AmeriStaff is currently seeking a Legal Administrative Assistant in the Martinsville, VA area for an opportunity with a local legal office. The ideal candidate will have strong administrative, organizational, and communication skills, with excellent attention to detail. Previous legal office experience is preferred but not required.

• Pay: $18.00 to $22.00, depending on experience

• Prepare, organize, and maintain legal files, records, and documentation.
• Draft, format, proofread, and edit legal documents, correspondence, court filings, and forms.
• Transcribe attorney dictation, audio recordings, and handwritten notes accurately.
• Manage calendars, appointments, deadlines, and case-related schedules.
• Organize and maintain pleadings, discovery materials, and case files.
• Perform electronic filing and document management tasks.
• Utilize Microsoft Word, Excel, and other office software to complete daily administrative duties.
• Coordinate the collection, delivery, and processing of legal documents.
• Assist with legal research and communicate professionally with clients, attorneys, court personnel, and other parties.
• Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive legal information.
• Prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced office environment.
• Provide general administrative support to ensure efficient daily office operations.

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and general office software.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong grammar, proofreading, and document formatting abilities.
• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines.
• Strong computer skills and ability to learn legal document management systems.
• Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
• Previous legal office experience preferred but not required.
