This entry‑level Mobile Crisis Therapist’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to, responding to crisis calls, completing crisis intervention for ongoing clients, case management and coordination of care, and interfacing with first responders. Services will be provided according to training, experience, and certification as assigned. The position requires an individual who can work in a high‑paced crisis environment. Therapist shifts start at the office with time split between driving to crisis calls and seeing clients in the community. Our crisis team mentors and establishes new therapists in the field. All mobile team shifts receive a mobile wage differential and crisis wage differential. No productivity or encounters. Work 10‑hour days with three days off (day, overnight, and weekend shifts available). Breaks and meals are generally taken while on shift, between calls. Extended breaks for personal reasons must be discussed with the department supervisor or on‑call coordinator. Essential Job Responsibilities Provide direct in‑home, in‑office, and community‑based crisis counseling and follow‑up services to youth, adults, and families. Provide comprehensive services to clients and coordinate communication with other departments to ensure continuity of care. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with related state, community behavioral health, and contracting organizations. Provide instruction and training to interns, pool staff, and new staff as assigned by the program coordinator or department manager. Ensure quality service delivery, including clinical care and all associated documentation. Maintain client records in accordance with agency policies and procedures, including phone documentation, intake, endangerment triage, treatment planning, referral triage, risk planning, termination, inter‑agency reports, and follow‑up documentation. Perform job duties safely at all times; support team members and work cooperatively and professionally as part of a cohesive team. Be prepared to work in potentially volatile situations and respond professionally to crisis situations regardless of the environment or circumstances. Oversee daily functioning of department vehicles and report incidents involving damage or theft immediately. Perform basic safety checks on vehicles (e.g., oil, tire pressure). Other Duties And Responsibilities Recommend changes that would improve service delivery to the program coordinator or manager; select and develop at least one specialized function related to department services. Participate in all regularly scheduled department meetings. Receive at least four hours of supervision per month from a coordinator in the department. Participate in agency fundraising activities as requested by management. What You’ll Provide Minimum of a master’s degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or a directly related field. Minimum of two years previous experience in crisis services preferred; special consideration given to those with experience in subacute or urgent psychiatric settings. Flexible to extend work shift to complete crisis work and paperwork as needed. Demonstrated ability to remain calm in stressful situations and collaborate/work in a team environment. Spanish/English bilingual preferred (receive bilingual differential). Must possess a valid Arizona driver’s license with no major infractions for the past 39 months. Fingerprint clearance card required or eligible to obtain one. Must be at least 21 years of age at time of employment. Maintain professional conduct consistent with ethical professional practice and agency policies and procedures. Maintain a professional demeanor and positive working relationships with internal and external team members, stakeholders, and community and business partners. If driving while on agency time or on agency business, a valid Arizona driver license and appropriate liability insurance and approval for liability coverage with EMPACT‑SPC’s liability insurance carrier is required. At time of hire, a three‑year state driving record with no major infractions or excessive driving violations/tickets is required. Staff members who provide direct client services must be at least 21 years old. Staff members who provide support services (administrative or clinical) must be at least 18 years old. All employees will have a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
