Plant Manager – Converting Location: Cascades Tissue Group – Wagram. Benefits Career pathways that support your goals Excellent benefits package offering health options, life insurance, time off 401(k) retirement plan, profit sharing & stock options Well‑being benefits: EAP options, lifestyle benefits, legal plan, critical illness coverage Base salary starting at $140k plus profit‑sharing target Responsibilities Health & Safety Ensure a plant‑wide safety program is in place and that all employees carry out their responsibilities Participate in accident and incident investigations and take corrective actions to prevent hazardous conditions and behaviors Ensure safety rules, policies and procedures are followed Business Development & Operational Strategy Provide oversight and strategic direction to meet organizational objectives and maintain fiscal health Develop business strategies to support operational functions and ensure profitability Understand market, competition and prospective customers Set, monitor and align business goals using key performance indicators Collaborate with stakeholders and project teams on optimization projects specific to the unit People Management Develop an employee‑oriented culture emphasizing safety, quality, continuous improvement, retention, development and high performance Create a workplace culture aligned with the organization’s vision and values Foster teamwork and unity among department members Display exemplary leadership for a team of supervisory and management staff and all other plant personnel Conduct performance feedback sessions, both formal and informal General Plant Administration & Analysis Functions Ensure sufficient employee time, supervisory support and funds are budgeted for safety equipment, tools and training Champion cost‑control initiatives, including overtime, direct labor, fixed and variable costs Manage capital expenditures Maintain and analyze operational reports to identify gaps and needs Relevant Experience & Strengths Proven troubleshooting ability with emphasis on safety and reliability Leadership and a collaborative spirit that inspires teams to achieve excellence Ability to build relationships and foster trust with stakeholders at all business levels Sound judgment to implement solutions in accordance with company priorities Persuasiveness to secure buy‑in in difficult contexts Strong communication skills, tact and diplomacy Capability to guide and coach team members Experience in machining functions (asset) Well organized Awareness of all safety standards and requirements Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Business or Operations preferred A combination of experience and education will be considered in lieu of a degree 1–3 years of manufacturing leadership experience Prior experience in the paper industry Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.) EEO Statement Cascades believes in the success of an inclusive organization that values diversity within its team.
