Assistant Project Manager - Site Civil Construction

Charlotte, North Carolina Up to $100,000 DOE + Bonus + Comprehensive Benefits A growing site civil contractor is looking to appoint an ambitious Assistant Project Manager to join its Charlotte team. With a healthy backlog of private land development projects and a reputation for delivering high-quality civil infrastructure, this is an excellent opportunity to join a business that invests heavily in developing its people and promoting from within. Working alongside experienced Project Managers and Superintendents, you'll gain exposure to every stage of the project lifecycle while supporting the successful delivery of complex site development projects throughout the Charlotte area. The Opportunity This role is ideal for an Assistant Project Manager looking to broaden their experience and progress into a Project Manager position within a supportive and collaborative environment. You'll assist with the day-to-day management of projects while developing your commercial, operational and client-facing skills. Responsibilities Support Project Managers with the delivery of multiple site civil projects. Assist with budgeting, forecasting and cost tracking. Prepare RFIs, submittals and change orders. Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and material deliveries. Monitor project schedules and progress. Attend project meetings with clients, consultants and field teams. Maintain project documentation and reporting. Assist with project closeout and handover. Projects You will be involved in a range of site civil and land development projects, including: Residential Communities Commercial Developments Mixed-Use Projects Private Site Development Requirements Previous experience as an Assistant Project Manager, Project Engineer or similar within site civil construction. Background in earthworks, grading, underground utilities, drainage or land development. Strong organisational and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively within a project team. Ambitious with a desire to progress into Project Management. Experience using construction management software such as HCSS, HeavyJob, Viewpoint or Procore is advantageous.
