These help software engineers and data scientists build, deploy and run data and ML workloads.Build self-service tools and automation for CI/CD, environment setup, packaging and deployment, so that secure, observable and scalable choices are the defaultOwn platform components from start to finish, from design through production support - this includes integrations with Spark, Databricks and data lake systemsWork closely with the engineers and data scientists who use the platform to understand their pain points, gather feedback, write clear documentation and help them adopt new toolsWhat Skills You Need5 or more years of professional software engineering experienceStrong Python skills, including library or API design, testing, packaging and dependency management3 or more years of experience building and supporting production cloud-based systems, preferably on AWSExperience with CI/CD pipelines, containers (Docker), infrastructure-as-code and automation, with a DevOps mindsetExperience building internal tools, shared libraries or developer tooling used by other engineers or data scientistsSome exposure to Spark or other distributed data processing frameworksA solid foundation in computer science fundamentalsStrong communication skills, including writing clear documentation and working with technical usersA sense of ownership, curiosity and the ability to do well in a fast-paced, collaborative teamWhat Makes You StandoutExperience building and managing internal development tools and platformsExperience with ScalaExperience with DatabricksExperience with Kubernetes or a similar container orchestration platformFamiliarity with data science and ML workflows, such as notebooks, experiment tracking or MLOps toolingExperience working with large-scale data (terabytes or more)Contributions to open-source Python projectsAn advanced degree in computer science, engineering or a related fieldEducationIdeally, you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:A bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or a related technology disciplineWhat You'll GetAt John Deere, you are empowered to create a career that will take you to where you want to go while working in an inclusive team environment.
