- Directly supervise the Banquet Manager, providing strategic guidance, performance oversight, and operational alignment between planning and execution.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Event Planning Team, assigning events to planners based on expertise, client needs, and workload balance.
- Set clear department goals, KPIs, and service standards for all direct and indirect reports within the Events division.
- Sets and upholds standards for event detailing, BEO accuracy, and operational communication across the team. Personally leads planning for select high-revenue or high-touch groups; remains hands-on with execution details during the initial ramp period as team standards are established.
- Develop a high-performance culture grounded in accountability, collaboration, and guest-obsessed service.
- Conduct regular one-on-ones, performance evaluations, and development conversations for all direct reports.
- Champion workforce planning, seasonal staffing strategies, and succession planning within the department.
- Owns operational execution of all groups and resort programming; partners with Club leadership on member programming, with clear lines on calendar, P&L, and on-site ownership
- Ensure timely and accurate communication between the Event Planning Team, clients, and all resort operations departments throughout the event lifecycle.
- Ensure each assigned Event Planner serves as the recognized on-site contact during their events, providing active support and decisive resolution of challenges.
- Oversee event design, including concepts, themes, décor, lighting, signage, and layout, ensuring alignment with Brasada Ranch brand identity.
- Owns the systems and workflows that support the events business - Delphi, BEO flow, operational communication standards, and forecasting/reporting cadence - and drives ongoing process improvement
- Collaborate with Northview Marketing and all property departments to ensure accurate and timely representation of programming across digital and on-property channels.
- Provide strategic leadership to the Banquet Manager, ensuring banquet service operations are executed in alignment with approved BEOs and brand standards.
- Hold the Banquet Manager accountable for departmental financial results, including banquet service labor, beverage cost, linen, paper goods, floral, décor, and other operating expenses.
- Partner with the Banquet Manager and Culinary team to drive consistent quality, timing, and presentation across all banquet service.
- Collaborate on the annual banquet budget, monthly forecasts, and operational reporting in partnership with the Hotel GM and Finance.
- Identify process improvements that reduce friction between the planning and execution handoff, improving the guest experience and operational efficiency.
- Serve as the primary liaison between the Events division and all resort departments-Culinary, F&B Outlets, Club, Golf, Spa, Guest Services, Facilities, and Finance-ensuring seamless operational alignment.
- Partner with the Director of Sales as a shared owner of the client experience - from contract through execution - including joint pacing reviews, account strategy, and ongoing operational alignment
- Partner with the Director of Sales and Finance on the commercial strategy for the events business - including profitability, space utilization, demand pacing, pricing, and competitive positioning - bringing the operational and execution lens to shared decision-making.
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Event Management, or a related field preferred; equivalent professional experience will be considered.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in event planning, conference services, or catering sales at a luxury or full-service resort environment.
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on banquet operations or Food & Beverage management experience-this dual background is essential to the role.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a senior leadership or department-head role, with demonstrated success managing multi-layered teams.
- Experience at a Four Diamond or higher property strongly preferred.
- Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing, multi-functional teams in a fast-paced resort environment.
- Executive presence and communication skills, with the ability to represent the department at the leadership level and in client-facing settings.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple events and operational priorities simultaneously.
- Strong financial acumen, including experience managing department P&Ls, labor costs, and budget forecasting.
- Strategic thinker with a hands-on, solutions-oriented approach to problem solving.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and extended hours as required by event and resort schedules.
