Global Trade Classification & Country of Origin Specialist (US Remote)

Medtronic seeks a Global Trade Classification & Country of Origin Specialist to serve as a subject matter expert in import compliance. The role involves determining country of origin, assigning tariff classifications, applying rules of origin, and maintaining trade data for medical device importation worldwide.

Responsibilities

• Determine and assign country of origin for products using bills of material, manufacturing processes, and rules of origin
• Research and maintain harmonized tariff schedule classifications with documented rationale
• Evaluate sourcing and manufacturing changes for impact on origin, classification, and compliance
• Prepare origin certifications and maintain trade compliance documentation in ERP systems
• Partner with engineering, sourcing, and manufacturing teams to obtain product information supporting compliance decisions

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree plus 1 year trade compliance experience, or high school diploma plus 4+ years related experience
• Demonstrated experience in country of origin determination, HTS classification, customs brokerage, or import compliance
• Strong analytical thinking with ability to evaluate bills of material and manufacturing processes
• Knowledge of U.S. customs regulations and import compliance requirements
• Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP, and trade compliance software
• Excellent written communication skills to document compliance decisions
