Overview This position requires that applicants be U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents. You must provide documentation to qualify. Responsibilities Provides comprehensive medical evaluations for MEPS applicants, ensuring full compliance with OSHA, Privacy Act, DoD, and USMEPCOM standards. Reviews medical records, conducts histories and physical exams, interprets diagnostic tests, identifies disqualifying conditions, assesses all body systems, determines the need for additional exams, communicates abnormal findings to applicants, and updates medical staff for accurate database documentation. This position requires on-site duties at a MEPS location. To see if there is a MEPS location near you, refer to the Battalion site. Conveys updates to medical staff for entry into the USMEPCOM-specific applicant database. Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Experience, Education, Skills, and Abilities Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination based on a completed background investigation. Position designated as non-sensitive and requires a personnel security investigation. Required to obtain and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) training/certification sponsored or endorsed by the American Heart Association. Advanced Life Support certifications do not supersede BLS. Must meet credentialing requirements and obtain/maintain clinical privileges. A one-year supervisory probationary period may be required. Successful completion of applicable Military Health System (MHS) GENESIS Training is required to access the MHS GENESIS System within 30 days of onboarding and/or as required. Occasional shift work before 0600 or after 1800 hours; occasional Saturdays may be required. To qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience. Qualifications (Education & Experience) Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO), or equivalent, from an accredited school in the United States or Canada. Foreign medical degrees must meet equivalency requirements. Current, active, full, and unrestricted medical license or registration in a U.S. state, D.C., Puerto Rico, or a U.S. territory. At least one year of supervised clinical experience after medical degree (internship or first year of residency). Three years of graduate training in the specialty or equivalent experience. Foreign education: if applicable, must be evaluated for equivalence or given full credit by a U.S. accredited institution. Must meet pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.
