This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, collaborating across disciplines, and contributing to technologies that improve patient lives.As a Software Engineer, you will be involved throughout the entire product development lifecycle, from concept and design through qualification, release, and maintenance. You will work closely with hardware, firmware, quality, regulatory, and clinical teams to deliver high-quality software solutions in a regulated medical device environment.Software DevelopmentDesign, develop, test, and maintain software applications supporting active implantable medical device systemsParticipate in all phases of software development, including requirements, design, implementation, verification, release, and maintenanceDevelop clean, maintainable, and well-documented code using modern software development practicesContribute to software architecture and implementation decisionsEnhance engineering efficiency through the development of tools, utilities, and improved workflowsSupport software integration activities with hardware and firmware systemsTechnical Problem SolvingTroubleshoot and resolve software defects, system issues, and field-reported concernsSupport hardware debugging activities and collaborate with engineers to identify root causes of system-level issuesAnalyze technical problems and develop effective solutions using sound engineering principlesParticipate in risk assessment and mitigation activities throughout product developmentCross-Functional CollaborationWork closely with hardware and firmware engineers to define and refine software requirementsCollaborate with Quality, Regulatory, Clinical, and Manufacturing teams to support product development objectivesParticipate in design reviews and provide constructive technical feedbackEnsure timely delivery of software solutions that meet quality and performance expectationsAssist with user training and technical support activities as neededExperience and Professional QualificationsEducation & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field requiredMaster's degree preferredMinimum 4 years of professional software development experienceExperience supporting products through concept, development, production, and maintenance phasesExperience working in multidisciplinary engineering teamsTechnical ExpertiseStrong recent experience with C#Solid understanding of object-oriented programming principlesExperience developing and maintaining complex software applicationsAbility to work effectively within existing software architectures and codebasesStrong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skillsFamiliarity with software development best practices, including code reviews and documentationAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet project deadlinesMust have mobile application development experience on Android and/or iOS platformsLeadership & Collaboration CompetenciesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate across technical disciplinesAbility to provide constructive feedback during peer reviewsSelf-motivated with strong attention to detailCommitment to quality, continuous improvement, and professional growthPreferred QualificationsExperience with cross-platform application developmentExperience with multithreaded programmingFamiliarity with dependency injection frameworksKnowledge of common software design patternsExperience within the medical device industry or another regulated environmentFamiliarity with software development processes supporting quality and regulatory requirementsCross-platform mobile application development using.NET MAUI and/or Xamarin experience preferredWhy Join huMannity Medtec?Contribute to life-changing medical technologiesWork alongside passionate scientists, engineers, and cliniciansParticipate in meaningful projects with real patient impactEnjoy a collaborative, mission-driven cultureBenefit from a 9/80 schedule with every other Friday offGrow professionally while helping advance innovative healthcare solutions
