Associate Systems Engineer - Mission Architecture

Salary: $86,000 - 126,500 per year Requirements:

• We require U.S. citizenship due to export control and ITAR obligations.
• We require a bachelors degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field.
• We look for 1–3 years of professional engineering experience, or equivalent internship/co-op experience.
• You should have a solid grasp of systems engineering principles and the system development lifecycle.
• You should understand requirements management concepts, including decomposition, allocation, verification, and traceability.
• Exposure to model-based systems engineering and SysML is important.
• Experience using engineering documentation, configuration-controlled repositories, or technical data management tools is preferred through academic or professional work.
• Strong organizational ability and exceptional attention to detail are essential.
• You should be able to coordinate across multiple engineering disciplines while preserving technical accuracy and data integrity.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
• You must be able to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative engineering environment with multiple concurrent development efforts.
• Preferred experience includes requirements management tools such as IBM DOORS Next, Jama Connect, Polarion, or similar.
• Preferred experience includes MBSE tools such as Cameo Systems Modeler, Enterprise Architect, MagicDraw, or comparable SysML environments.
• Familiarity with the Ansys engineering tool suite, including STK, is an advantage.
• Knowledge of configuration management and engineering change processes is beneficial.
• Understanding of requirements verification and validation planning is preferred.
• Experience organizing technical documentation and maintaining engineering baselines is valued.
• Familiarity with digital engineering methods and lifecycle traceability from concept through verification and validation is a plus.
• Exposure to spacecraft, satellite payloads, ground systems, mission operations, or other complex hardware/software systems is desirable.
• Experience with Git, Jira, Confluence, or similar collaboration tools is a plus.
• Working knowledge of systems engineering standards such as ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288, INCOSE practices, or the NASA Systems Engineering Handbook is advantageous.
• You should be able to learn new engineering tools and processes quickly while supporting multiple technical teams.

• We continuously improve engineering processes that support rapid, disciplined system development.
• We contribute to systems engineering administration and lifecycle management, with opportunities to grow into broader technical systems engineering, architecture, integration, and mission engineering work over time.
