Special Education Supervisor

Special Education Supervisor Neshaminy School District Pupil Services - Langhorne, Pennsylvania Job Description The Neshaminy School District is seeking candidates for the position of Special Education Supervisor. It is anticipated that this position would primarily support the elementary level. This is a full-time, ongoing position that is on a 12-month schedule. Compensation and Benefits consistent with the NSDAA Act 93 Agreement. General Scope of Responsibilities The Special Education Supervisor reports to the Director of Pupil Services. Essential duties and responsibilities include monitoring special education programs, offering assistance to teachers and sharing information and concerns with administrators, and the preparation/analyzation of data to evaluate program effectiveness. The Supervisor is expected to attend and provide leadership at student-related meetings, MDT meetings, IEP team meetings, Manifestation Determination meetings, parent conferences, parent support meetings, and other meetings as required. Expectations also include assistance to staff in the development of IEPs. Qualifications and Experience Valid Pennsylvania certification as Supervisor of Special Education, or Principal certification, Five years professional experience in a public school district (area vocational-technical school, or intermediate unit, or in a state-approved private special education school), Experience with Child Study and/or Instructional Support Team program, understanding of special education regulations (IDEA/Chapter 14) and referral procedures, The Ability to take and provide direction and work well with others, The Ability to work and to complete assigned tasks within a reasonable period of time. Physical Demands Physical demands include: the ability to travel to various school district buildings, the ability to work in classroom and office environments for extended periods of time including, but not limited to, sitting, standing, some lifting, bending and reaching, the ability to clearly and effectively communicate verbally.
