Position Details

• Location: Morton Plant Hospital, Clearwater, FL
• Schedule: Full time and part time opportunities available with occasional weekends
• On Call: No

Morton Plant Hospital, a nationally recognized leader in patient care and clinical innovation, is seeking skilled and compassionate Acute Physical Therapists to join our inpatient rehabilitation team. This role focuses on delivering high-quality, evidence-based physical therapy services to patients in an acute hospital setting, supporting recovery from surgery, injury, or illness.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive physical therapy evaluations for patients with acute medical conditions.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to improve mobility, strength, and functional independence (ADL's).
• Deliver therapeutic interventions including manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, gait training, and patient education.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other allied health professionals to coordinate care and optimize outcomes.
• Document patient progress and treatment in the electronic medical record system in accordance with BayCare standards.
• Participate in discharge planning and provide education to patients and families.
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, safety protocols, and state regulations.

Qualifications:

• Doctorate or Master's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
• Current Florida Physical Therapist license.
• BLS certification required.
• Acute care experience preferred; new graduates with strong clinical rotations in acute settings are welcome.
• Excellent communication, clinical reasoning, and teamwork skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with neurological, orthopedic, or cardiopulmonary patient populations.
• Familiarity with BayCare EMR systems and documentation protocols.
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced hospital environment.

• Preferred Master's Physical Therapy
• Preferred Doctorate's Physical Therapy
• Preferred 1-year Physical Therapist
