CAD Manager

Santa Fe Springs, CA · Hybrid or On-Site · Full-Time We're working with a national EPC electrical and energy contractor to fill a CAD Manager role on their team. They split work across two project types: commercial and industrial solar, where the team runs projects from conceptual layouts through full permit drawing sets, and utility-scale solar, where their scope covers preliminary design. It's a hands-on leadership role, managing a team of CAD designers, hybrid or on-site. What you'll do Manage and mentor a team of CAD designers, setting priorities and reviewing output for quality and consistency Oversee CAD production for C&I solar projects from concept through permit-ready drawing sets Oversee preliminary CAD design for utility-scale solar projects Set and enforce drawing standards, templates, and QA/QC processes across the team Coordinate with engineering, project management, and field teams to keep designs on schedule Review redlines and manage revision cycles across active projects Support staffing and workload planning as project volume shifts between C&I and utility work What you'll need Strong AutoCAD skills (AutoCAD Electrical, Civil 3D, or similar); Revit a plus Experience designing electrical drawings for solar or renewable energy projects, ideally spanning both commercial/industrial and utility scale Prior experience supervising or leading a design/drafting team Working knowledge of NEC and permitting requirements for electrical construction drawings Comfortable working with a team that is currently fully in-office; some travel may be required Nice to have Experience with both greenfield utility solar and rooftop or ground-mount C&I solar Familiarity with permitting processes across multiple AHJs Bachelor's degree in a related field (not required with strong hands-on experience) #J-18808-Ljbffr
