Position: Respiratory Therapist (RT)
Status: Full-Time / Part-Time / PRN

Position Summary

Maple Manor Rehab Center of Novi is seeking a compassionate and dependable Respiratory Therapist (RT) to join our clinical team. The Respiratory Therapist will provide respiratory care and treatments to residents in accordance with physician orders, facility policies, and applicable state and federal regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory treatments and therapies as ordered by the physician.
• Assess and monitor residents with respiratory conditions and report changes in condition to nursing and the physician as appropriate.
• Provide tracheostomy care, suctioning, oxygen therapy, nebulizer treatments, and other respiratory services within scope of practice.
• Monitor residents receiving oxygen and ensure equipment is functioning properly and safely.
• Assist with management and monitoring of residents with tracheostomies and other complex respiratory needs.
• Maintain and clean respiratory equipment according to infection-control standards.
• Ensure respiratory supplies and equipment are readily available and properly stored.
• Document assessments, treatments, resident response, and other required information accurately and timely in the medical record.
• Communicate and coordinate respiratory care with nursing, physicians, rehabilitation, and other members of the interdisciplinary team.
• Educate residents, families, and staff regarding respiratory treatments, equipment, and safety when appropriate.
• Participate in care planning and clinical meetings as needed.
• Follow infection prevention, safety, and emergency procedures.
• Notify nursing leadership and/or the physician of significant changes in a resident's respiratory status.
• Perform other respiratory-related duties within the RT's scope of practice as assigned.

Qualifications

• Current and active Respiratory Therapist license in the State of Michigan.
• Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy program.
• Current CPR/BLS certification.
• Experience in a skilled nursing, long-term care, hospital, or respiratory care setting preferred.
• Experience with tracheostomy care and suctioning preferred.
• Strong assessment, communication, and documentation skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with nursing and the interdisciplinary team.
• Must meet all facility employment, health, and background requirements.
