Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.ResponsibilitiesCRNAs provide anesthesia services to patients of all ages under the medical direction of members of the faculty of the Department of Anesthesiology of the University of Rochester Medical Center. They are an integral part of the surgical team working closely with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and operating room nurses and other healthcare professionals. They provide anesthesia care for a full range of surgical procedures including: colon/rectal, ENT, gynecology, neurosurgery, ophthalmology, orthopedics, plastics, thoracic, urology, vascular, and general surgery.QualificationsGraduate of an approved school of nursing with a current license to practice in New York State; graduate of a school of nurse anesthesia, accredited by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists.Current A.A.N.A. membership, active practicing category. (Possession of above is proof that the applicant has passed the national qualifying examination and received initial certification-C.R.N.A.; and is in compliance with the on-going specific requirements for continuing professional education to maintain certification.Preferred Qualifications- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or other appropriate baccalaureate degree. At least one year of experience as a registered nurse in an acute care setting.- Graduation with a minimum of a master's degree from a nurse anesthesia program accredited by the Council on Accreditation of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists.- Pass the national certification examination within 24 months after graduation.- Maintains at least 40 hours of continuing education every two years.The University of Rochester is committed to fostering, cultivating, and preserving an inclusive and welcoming culture to advance the University's Mission to Learn, Discover, Heal, Create – and Make the World Ever Better.
