About the Role
The Company is in search of a visionary President & CEO to lead its destination marketing organization at a pivotal time for the region's visitor economy. The successful candidate will be tasked with strengthening the strategic direction, driving convention and group business, and uniting the local hospitality, business, and civic leaders around a shared vision for growth. This role is instrumental in elevating the national profile of the region as a premier destination for meetings, conventions, and major events, with a focus on maximizing economic impact for the community. The ideal President & CEO will have a strong convention and group sales mindset, exceptional stakeholder leadership skills, and the ability to inspire collaboration across a broad coalition of partners. Key responsibilities for the President & CEO include leading the organization in promoting distinctively memorable experiences that connect people to the region's diverse heritage, rich history, and deep culture. The role also involves working closely with the Board of Directors, industry leaders, and community stakeholders to ensure the organization remains a catalyst for economic development and destination growth. The candidate should be prepared to take on a transformational leadership position, with a primary goal of expanding the region's presence in the competitive meetings and conventions marketplace. A successful track record in a similar role, a deep understanding of the industry, and a passion for the region's values and offerings are essential for this position.
