Registered Nurse – Special Care Nursery

Schedule: Rotating

Assignment Details:

• Contract Weeks: 8
• Guaranteed Hours: 36

Requirements:

• Current, valid RN license from the state and in good standing with the Board of Nursing.
• Current, valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Current, valid Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (if performing circulating or recovery room for C-section).
• Current, valid Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification (if caring for Pediatrics).
• Current, valid Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification (for Family Care Unit).
• Intermediate Electronic Fetal Monitoring class (for Labor and Delivery, within the first year).
• Advanced Electronic Fetal Monitoring class (for Labor, within three years).

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Conduct assessments and evaluations to determine patient care needs.
• Develop and implement patient care plans.
• Provide education and support to patients and their families.
• Coordinate care with the healthcare team and delegate tasks appropriately.
• Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to protocols and physician orders.
• Demonstrate exceptional problem-solving skills and prioritize tasks effectively.

Compliance / Notes:

• Must maintain all certifications throughout employment.
• Special training may be required based on unit-specific duties.
