Summary Sambatek is looking for an experienced and driven Traffic Group Lead to grow and lead a team delivering high-impact traffic engineering projects. In this role, you’ll manage project development from start to finish— overseeing scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk, and resources— while guiding your team to success. You’ll play a key role in expanding our client base in Minnesota by leading business development efforts, pursuing new opportunities, and building strong professional relationships. This is a unique opportunity to shape and grow our Traffic group as part of the continued expansion of Sambatek’s Public Division. Continuing our expansion into Traffic Engineering is a strategic step in building on the success of our Transportation team, and we’re looking for the right leader to help drive this vision forward. Work Location: Hybrid- flexible to work in office and remotely; local to Minnetonka, MN office Expected Compensation Range: $130,000-160,000 annually (Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications) Pay Rate Type: Salary Responsibilities Manage traffic projects in study, preliminary design, and plan development phase Drive pursuit efforts for transportation and traffic-focused projects from both public and private clients Lead internal teams and collaborate with external stakeholders to deliver high-quality work for state and county clients Evaluate traffic projects for freeways, arterial corridors, and intersections, including signals, roundabouts, and other innovative intersection control designs Represent Sambatek at meetings with clients, counties, cities, and other key stakeholders Oversee quality reviews, risk management, and resource coordination Support business development and market expansion efforts Provide input to leadership for the development for annual business planning and budgeting Prepare and negotiate contract documents Mentor, supervise, and train staff, and advise on strategic hiring Responsible for the utilization and revenue of the Traffic Group Requirements Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis on traffic/transportation engineering PE in Civil Engineering with 8-15 years of relevant experience (PTOE license preferred) Experience leading and/or managing traffic projects Preferred Qualifications Ability and desire to effectively lead, mentor, train, coach, and develop team members Driven to exceed expectations, win over clients, and build strong relationships Experience with traffic engineering software such as: HCS, Synchro/SimTraffic, VISSIM, Corsim, Rodel, and IHSDM Ability to complete traffic impact analyses (TIA), traffic operation modeling, traffic signal warrant studies, and intersection control evaluations (ICE) Strong written and verbal communication skills Possess critical thinking skills and independent engineering judgement Knowledge of federal, state, and local guidance and standards Previous experience generating proposals, scopes, budgets, and schedules Physical Demands and Work Environment Work is primarily performed in an office environment Ability to occasionally move equipment/objects weighing up to 10 pounds Benefit Information Regular full-time employees will have access to: Medical, dental, and vision plans HSA and FSA options Employer-paid short-term and long-term disability coverage Employer-paid life insurance and accidental death & dismemberment insurance Employee assistance program Voluntary benefits such as additional life insurance coverage, accident coverage, and critical illness coverage Paid time off and holidays Retirement 401(k) plan with company match Starting January 1, 2026, eligible Minnesota employees will be covered under Minnesota Paid Family & Medical Leave (PFML), providing paid, job-protected time away from work for family, medical, or parental needs Sambatek, LLC is an equal opportunity employer and values diversity in its workforce.
