Arizona Specialty Hospital provides excellent patient services and the highest level of care, with the overall goal of improving the delivery of healthcare in Maricopa County and beyond.Shift: Friday, Saturday, Sunday 6pm - 7:30amJob Summary: Under the direction of the Hospitality Services Director, Facilities Supervisor, the Maintenance Technician performs a variety of routine to skilled general preventive maintenance duties in the repair, alteration and modification of building equipment, and facilities.Duties and Responsibilities:Inspects equipment and facility for proper operation and working conditions, maintains routine equipment inspections and repairs as necessary, adjusts, dissembles and repairs or replaces parts or components and tests for proper operation.Reports more serious problems to his supervisor for further instructions or maintenance scheduling.Uses snakes, augers or plungers to open clogged drains.Troubleshoots and replaces TV's, remote controls, nurse call lights, etc.Proficiently uses standard hand tools, voltmeter, and amp meter.Performs a variety of routine manual duties as required, such as repairs and assembling carts and furniture, replacing fluorescent ballasts and tubes, cleaning and lubricating motors and other machinery.Clear sink and grease traps, assembles non-medical equipment.Sometimes required to move supplies, furniture and equipment, removing trash and scrap materials, etc.Conducts routine safety and preventive maintenance inspections to ensure that services are maintained without interruption.Required Experience:Adheres to dress code, appearance is neat and clean.Maintains regulatory requirementsMaintains patient confidentiality at all timesReports to work on time and as scheduled, completes work within designated time.Wears identification while on duty, uses computerized time system correctly.Completes in-services and returns in a timely fashionAttends annual review and department in-services, as scheduledRepresents the organization in a positive and professional mannerComplies with all organizational policies regarding ethical business practicesCommunicates the mission, ethics and goals of the facility, as well as the focus statement of the departmentRegulatory Requirements:High school graduate, technical or trade school preferredSix months experience in general maintenance preferred.General knowledge of plant maintenance.Knowledge of tools and their use.Knowledge of equipment used in hospitals.Effective written and verbal communication skills in EnglishWork with little or no supervision, take verbal instructions.What We OfferAs an organization, one way we care for our communities and each other is by providing a comprehensive benefits package that includes the following, subject to employment status:Medical, dental, vision, and prescription coverageLife and AD&D coverageAvailability of short- and long-term disabilityFlexible financial benefits including FSAs and HSAs401(k) and access to retirement planningPaid holidays and vacationWho We AreAt USPI, we create relationships that create better care.
