Clinical Laboratory Scientist - Consumer Genetics
$45 - $58 per hourLabcorp
Labcorp seeks a Clinical Laboratory Scientist for its San Diego consumer genetics lab, working night shifts Thursday–Monday. The role involves managing NIPS pre/post-lab operations, performing technical procedures, and ensuring quality patient care through specimen processing and instrumentation oversight.
Responsibilities
- Assist supervisor with daily operations of the NIPS Pre/Post Lab
- Perform routine and complex technical procedures according to established protocols
- Monitor, operate and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation for proper functionality
- Determine specimen acceptability and report accurate, timely test results
- Complete preventive maintenance, quality control, and production reporting
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical/Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology
- California CLS license (Generalist or CGMBS)
- Proficiency with Laboratory Information Systems and Microsoft Office
- One year or more clinical laboratory science experience (preferred)
- Ability to pass color vision screening and handle physical demands
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Compensation: $45.00 - $58.00 per hour plus shift differential
