You will report to the Plasma Center Manager and work as a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations. About the role You will determine donor eligibility, manage donor adverse events, review laboratory test results, and notify donors of unsuitable test results. The Specialist works under the guidance of the Center Manager (or Assistant Manager) and under the management of the Center Physician for medical issues. Familiarity with regulations of the plasma collection industry or a manufacturing environment is required. The Specialist follows guidance from BioLife Medical Affairs and provides center‑level support for environmental, health and safety (EHS). How you will contribute Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review of Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE). Evaluate donor reactions as outlined in SOPs and follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies, including donor transport to emergency care facilities. Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on unacceptable findings, medical or technical issues, donor safety and eligibility. Support the Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees. Manage employee incidents and determine further evaluation by occupational health/ER, following EHS guidance. Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations related to pandemic threats. What you bring to Takeda High school diploma or equivalent, including graduation from a recognized nursing program with state requirements. Current state license or certification: EMT-Paramedic. Current CPR and AED certification. State‑required basic IV therapy certification. Completion of FDA‑approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist. Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.
