Registered Nurse

This position is for a registered nurse in the Special Care Nursery. The nurse will provide care for neonates in a Level II special care nursery setting. Assist with circumcision and assess the post-operative site. Educate parents on car seat usage and discharge teaching. Conduct cord care and ensure infant identification. Implement isolation precautions and use PPE as necessary. Administer IV antibiotics and manage care for infants with low birth weight. Perform metabolic screenings and monitor for neonatal abstinence syndrome. Conduct comprehensive newborn assessments and manage newborn hypoglycemia. Provide phototherapy and ensure proper thermoregulation. Administer vaccinations and teach circumcision care to parents. The position requires floating to the postpartum unit for baby care assignments. Nurses will be scheduled for every other weekend. Scrubs will be provided.
