About Praxis Engineering:
Praxis is a civil and structural engineering firm working on a diverse mix of projects across California: commercial, mixed-use, wineries and hospitality, multi-family, custom residential, and bridges. We're looking for a structural engineering intern to join our San Luis Obispo office this summer.
What you'll do:
Work alongside our structural team on active projects. Expect to:
- Draft plans and exhibits in CAD under the direction of our project engineers
- Support basic structural calculations
- Revise and update drawings as designs evolve
- Join site visits and construction-phase observations when schedules align
- Learn how agency specifications and standards shape real projects
Who we're looking for
- Sophomore or junior pursuing a degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Coursework in statics, strength of materials, structural analysis and CAD experience from class or a prior internship
- Curious, collaborative, and willing to ask questions
- Clear written and verbal communicator
- Valid Class C driver's license for occasional site visits
