Manager, Customer Engineer

Compensation & Benefits Salary: $88,000.00 - $121,000.00 Location: Albany, NY In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable. For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain customer relationships with all relevant individuals in the district at all levels. Perform regular customer visits. Manage, coach, and direct all customer engineers in the district. Plan salary, career, and corrective actions; establish objectives and conduct performance appraisals. Provide formal updates to employees regarding business, new hires, and new products. Invite guest speakers and initiate reports necessary for the business. Act as the prime interface with Product Divisions: tech support, training, spares, reliability. Monitor the CSD Award Program with quarterly results and the “mentor” program for new engineers. Execute escalation procedures. Collaborate on account planning with the District Sales Engineer and provide support plans for system sales to CSD Management, Sales, and Field Engineering. Forecast finances and ensure cost efficiency for the district; results measured by financial performance. Oversee system installation planning, reporting, and execution, including pre‑facility, start‑up, and process support identification. Manage the RMA procedure and measure engineering effectiveness. Maintain accuracy and updates of Customer Engineer hour tracking, personal cross‑check, signatures, and corrective action with engineers. Functional Knowledge Address issues where analysis requires reviewing relevant factors. Work with objectives, goals, and processes to meet them. Recommend changes to unit or sub‑unit policies. Business Expertise Manage assignments in the form of objectives with goals. Review work for meeting objectives. Leadership & Management Provide direction to employees per established policies and management guidance. Administer company policies affecting subordinate employees. Problem Solving & Decision Making Exercise judgment within defined procedures and policies to determine appropriate action. Impact Recognize that erroneous decisions or failure to achieve results can delay schedules. Interpersonal Skills Gain cooperation of others and conduct presentations of technical information concerning projects or schedules.
