Manager, Aviation Security

POSITION SUMMARYThe Manager of Aviation Security Operations is responsible for overseeing all security aspects and initiatives within a business aviation organization and acts as an advisor to the Chief Safety Officer on all matters pertaining to flight safety and security, works in concert with and supports all other safety departmental personnel and Flight Operations. Responsible for managing flight safety and security components within the companys comprehensive safety and security program. Assists in the development, implementation, and management of safety programs, policies, and procedures. Help ensure the company complies with all current safety and security regulations and industrys best practices. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESWork with Flight Operations, Operations Control managers and Owner Service Representatives to monitor the companys aircraft operations for safe practices and regulatory complianceAssist in the companys Operational Risk Management program for all aviation-related eventsWork within parameters and assist with the Safety Management System (SMS)Serve as Aircraft Operator Security Coordinator (AOSC)Serves as Transportation Vetting Portal (TVP) managerServes as Aviation Employee Vetting (AEV) managerServes as DCA Access Standard Security Program (DASSP) managerServes as Twelve-Five Standard Security Program (TFSSP) managerServes as Known Crew Member (KCM) AdministratorComplete global security risk assessments and analysis to support flight operationsDevelop and manage budgets for security operations and ensure financial efficiency Ensure adherence to all relevant regulations and best practices in business aviation securityServe as primary point of contact for inquiries regarding customers and security mattersCompany designated flight Aircraft Accident InvestigatorGo-Team MemberManage investigation and analysis for aviation-related safety and security reports involving Operational DepartmentsResearch issues relating to flight safety and security, conduct periodic audits, evaluate processes to identify hazards, recommend corrective actions as neededRequest written response from managers outlining corrective actions to address findings or concernsDesign and organize safety and security training and communications programsDeliver safety and security training to employees and maintain training programs to ensure they are relevant Monitor industry and global events pertaining to safety and security information for applicable interfaces and resolutionAssists in managing facility safety and securityParticipant in all SMS Risk Working GroupsAssist in the management of aviation incident and hazard reporting programsAny other duties as assigned EDUCATION & EXPERIENCEBachelors degree, relevant Military or other relevant experience in Security, or a related aviation field preferred.Experience with security in a safety-critical environment preferred.Advanced analytical skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite applications.REQUIRED / DESIRED SKILLSUnderstanding of SMS, aviation regulatory frameworks, Security concepts, processes, and safety applications.Strong leadership, influencing and interpersonal skills, able to engage and promote a positive safety culture with integrityExcellent verbal communication skills with the ability to speak publicly and present on the individual level, senior management level, and to large audiences, including employees, and industry professionalsStrong written communication skills with the ability to write effective reports, business correspondence, and procedure manualsAble to read and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulationsMust be detail oriented with an ability to prioritize multiple objectives in a fast-paced environment with constantly shifting priorities.Department: 257 Safety Location: Cleveland, OH
