This role involves direct patient interaction, accurate test administration, and proper documentation while maintaining patient comfort and safety.QUALIFICATIONSLicense/CertificationRequired: BLSEducationRequired: High school diploma or equivalentKnowledge/Skills/Abilities:Basic knowledge of cardiac anatomy and physiologyStrong attention to detail and accuracyExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to remain calm and professional with patientsBasic computer and electronic medical record (EMR) skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a healthcare teamAbility to operate EKG and monitoring equipment preferred.JOB RESPONSIBILITIESEssentialPerforms and manages EKGs.Prepares patients for procedures by explaining the process and positioning electrodes correctly.Operates, maintains, and troubleshoots EKG equipment.Ensures accurate recording and documentation of test results.Verifies patient information and maintains confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.AdditionalDemonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care and services appropriate to the population served on the assigned unit or work area. Knowledgeable of growth and development for all patient/family cultural, linguistic, spiritual, gender, and age specific needs.
