Senior Linux AdministratorOur Partner supports a U.S. Government customer on a mission critical program to design, build, deliver, and operate a next generation network operations environment. As part of the broader consolidation and modernization vision, this role contributes directly to the establishment of a team dedicated to maintaining a Cyber Threat Intelligence Database. This role will also contribute to the creation, maintenance, and expansion of such a system across multiple domains. They are seeking a Senior Linux Administrator with strong database, automation, and cloud integration experience to help shape and execute this forward leaning effort. This position plays a key role in enhancing cybersecurity posture, improving operational efficiency, and working with key external partners to support a highly complex Threat Intelligence platform.ResponsibilitiesStandardize processes across multiple Customer environmentsPrioritize critical updates aligned with IT cybersecurity objectivesIntegrate automation and intelligent systems to reduce manual effortStrengthen collaboration between customer teams, government sponsors, and tenantsImprove transparency, metrics, and operational agilityLeverage deep technical expertise to automate tasks and optimize system performanceSupport cloud environments while contributing to the development of enterprise?wide patching standards and best practicesEngineer and maintain Linux system architectures (primarily RHEL 8/9/10 and AWS Linux)Perform OS security hardening, patching, and lifecycle maintenanceManage backup, recovery, and configuration documentation to ensure system integrityEngineer the design and implementation of standardized patching methodologies across AWS, AZURE, Google Cloud environmentsPrioritize and execute critical updates in alignment with Customer IT Patch Management GuidelinesParticipate in efforts to refine workflows, metrics, and operational processesIntegrate AWS, AZURE and Google native services to enhance performance, resilience, and scalability of patching and DevOps infrastructureEvaluate and implement AI capabilities into the Threat Intelligence PlatformContribute to enterprise cloud and DevOps standards, guidelines, and best practicesServe as a central conduit between teams, government sponsors, and tenantsEstablish and track metrics such as patch compliance, deployment timelines, and automation achievementsSupport iterative improvements based on stakeholder feedback and operational dataFollow established testing and implementation methods to ensure stability and interoperability of vendor provided patches and codeRecreate unique circumstances within a database to reproduce issues experienced by users and analyze database behavior for potential solutionsCoordinate and work with external experts from multiple vendors simultaneously to troubleshoot complex issues in a highly integrated environment supporting both a complex database as well as multiple dependent applicationsRequirementsUS CitizenshipActive TS/SCI ClearanceMust be able to obtain DHS SuitabilityBS Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Computer Systems Engineering or related degree or HS Diploma and 7+ years lab management or systems administration experience5+ years of Linux systems administration experience (RHEL 8/9/10 preferred)Strong background in Linux EngineeringExperience with PostgreSQL databasesExperience with performance tuning and troubleshooting across compute, network, and storage layersExperience with general networking concepts or AWS specific networking and securityDesired SkillsExperience in development environmentsExperience in Classified EnvironmentsExperience with SELinux, multilevel security systems, or Cross Domain SolutionsExperience coordinating with external vendors to communicate customer needs and feature requestsExperience with API's and authentication using API keys and OAuth TokensCertifications:DoD 8570.1 IAT Level IICompTIA Linux+Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator (RHCSA)About Us For more than 20 years, NewGen Technologies has solved our clients' toughest IT challenges with integrity, security, and outstanding service by delivering both technology and talent.
