Details Oncology infusion center setting connected to an oncology urgent care for add-on patients or provider assessments Administers chemotherapy, electrolytes, and blood products Patient ratio of 1:6-7 Day shift schedule, 4x10 hours, 7:00 AM-5:30 PM Every other weekend required No on-call requirements Floating required within specialty and acuity level Uses Epic charting system Requirements Active MD or Compact RN license required at time of submission BLS and ACLS certification required (AHA only) Chemotherapy certification (ONS/ONCC) preferred NIHSS and ONS/ONCC certifications preferred Minimum 2 years of oncology/infusion RN experience required Epic charting experience required CPI certification required (Calm Every Storm online version currently accepted) Skilled in IV therapy, infusion administration, and port access/management Skilled in administration of chemotherapy via IV push and oral routes Experience monitoring for oncologic emergencies such as anaphylaxis, hemorrhage, and sepsis Experience with central line and PICC line care Prior charge nurse experience preferred Additional Information Provide direct patient care including chemotherapy administration, port and central line management, and symptom management Care for patients with a variety of cancer diagnoses including breast, lung, colorectal, leukemia, lymphoma, and other cancer types Support patients experiencing side effects such as nausea/vomiting, altered mental status, and skin/mucous membrane changes Recognize and communicate abnormal lab values to the care team Provide patient and family education and psychosocial support Follow neutropenic precautions and isolation/PPE protocols Travelers are first to float with no scheduling restrictions or special requests accepted First-time travelers accepted with strong oncology/infusion experience Candidates residing under 50 miles from the facility are not accepted unless locals are specifically approved One major holiday off during the winter season may be permitted Maximum of 7 days RTO may be requested, with additional conditions for requests longer than 4 consecutive days Returning staff members must have been separated from the health system for at least 12 months Returning travelers must have been away from the system for at least 6 months after their last assignment American Traveler Job ID P-745396.
