Loyola University Maryland Main Campus Job Type Full time Benefits at Loyola Compensation Range Final compensation offers are determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to job-related experience, internal equity, and alignment with organizational budget. $53,040.00 - $66,300.00 Anticipated Start Date Monday, September 14, 2026 If Temporary or Visiting, Estimated End Date 11/14/2026 Position Duties Assists AVP/Dean of Students representatives in providing support to students in resolving educational and personal challenges, psychological distress and crises, that may impede their academic progress and community interactions. Provide support and outreach to faculty and staff involved when students at risk are identified and support is needed. Assist students with social services needs including, but not limited to, referral to community resources and facilitating access to medical care (including coordination of hospitalizations and discharge planning), and follow up to ensure that clients are appropriately assessed, successfully referred, and compliant with treatment recommendations. Essential Functions Serving as primary resource for managing student issues related to students in distress, at-risk, and students in crisis. Collecting, organizing, and evaluating facts associated with student incidents, coordinating intervention plans, and communicating with the impacted student(s). Facilitating information flow with the CARE Team, identified students, parents/guardians, Counseling Center, Student Health Services, Disability Support Services, Thrive Center for Student Success, Academic Advising, Class Deans, faculty, and off-campus hospitals and mental health care providers. Assist students with social services needs including, but not limited to, referral to community resources and facilitating access to medical care (including coordination of hospitalizations and discharge planning) and follow up to ensure that students are appropriately assessed, successfully referred, and compliant with treatment recommendations Establish and maintain regular contact with a network of administrative resources and related off-campus referrals in order to accurately identify, address, and follow up with students who present with a high level behavioral and/or mental health-related risk(including suicidal ideation, self-harm, depression, anxiety, eating disorders). Develop and coordinate programs to improve the health and well-being for Loyola students. Implement programs that show effective promotion of wellness and provide measurable results. Promote wellness programming through social media communications, incentive campaigns, and other activities to generate student participation. Initiate and develop on-going liaison relationships with community health providers, services, hospitals, and other resources. Develop and maintain a database of referral resources and community services in surrounding communities (including current insurance panel of providers as well as providers who will work with students at minimal cost). Keep abreast of federal and state policy changes that will affect the scope or practice of case management. Participate in research, departmental and campus committees, programs and projects as assigned. Maintain detailed case notes in Maxient data system. Collect and analyze data regarding student support efforts and campus conduct issues. Assist the director in preparing case notes for weekly CARE Team meetings. Support overall operation of Dean of Students and Student Support and Wellness Promotion office. Provide outreach to campus departments. Actively participate in departmental/divisional efforts and projects. Serve on University, Division and Department Committees as needed. Help prepare reports for Vice President and Cabinet. Non essential: Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor. This may include attendance of and participation in required training for role. Broad knowledge of physical and mental health care and services, crisis management/prevention, suicidal assessment, educational outreach to students, staff, faculty and parents/guardians. Experience interfacing with hospitals, insurance companies, families and concerned others to accompany students and facilitate inpatient hospital admissions and referrals for aftercare when discharged from hospital. Demonstrated exceptional interpersonal skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills, efficient work habits, strong organizational skills, and superior attention to detail. An understanding of the student developmental process and ability to promote student success. Ability to judge appropriateness of off-campus mental health providers as potential referral resources for university students with varied diagnosable mental health disorders. Ability to form relationships with students and families referred for support in preparing and connecting students with off-campus provider. Demonstrated effectiveness in addressing the unique needs and concerns of students from a variety of diverse backgrounds. An ability to build collaborative efforts between student life, academic affairs and other divisions of the university. Demonstrated ability of working effectively with college-age students. Competency in setting appropriate boundaries with students while providing suitable resources. Administer policies and procedures related to the application of community values and behavioral expectations and other student handbook guidelines. Experience and proficiency with educational management applications such as Ellucian/Colleague; Microsoft Office and Maxient.
