Job order - J0226-0848 - Permanent Full Time Title Housing Inspector Category Administration City Nashville, Tennessee, United States Position Overview CGI Federal, a wholly owned subsidiary of CGI and a trusted federal contractor, partners with IT, business, and public housing agencies across the United States. We anticipate future openings for Housing Inspectors in the Nashville, TN area. In this role, you will conduct housing inspections in alignment with HUD guidelines, ensuring quality and compliance for public housing programs. Responsibilities Monitor, evaluate and document housing conditions of rental assistance clients. Ensure that all assigned annual and new units are inspected timely and cited HQS violations are brought into compliance within given time frames. Follow‑up on all inspections to determine if required work has been completed properly and within specified time constraints. Educate program participants, appropriate agencies, and the general public entities concerning HQS and client‑specific regulations, policies and procedures. Research and respond to inquiries regarding HQS and other inspection related matters. Participate effectively within and across teams to solve issues and deliver quality service to client, owners, agents and participants. Clearly and accurately document specific information pertaining to each dwelling unit. Perform related duties as assigned by the Inspections Supervisor and provide adequate coverage in other areas as needed. Required Qualifications Minimum of 1 year of directly related experience. High School diploma or GED. PC literacy and ability to use MS Word, Excel, Outlook and hand‑held electronic devices. Knowledge of local building codes, construction methods (new and rehabilitation) and housing systems (electrical, plumbing, heating). Experience in the fields of Public Housing, Real Estate, Building Inspections, Code Enforcement or equivalent education and experience; licensed Home Inspector preferred. Diplomacy in dealing with housing applicants, residents, property owners, real estate agencies and staff. Ability to work independently and complete daily assignments. Strong interpersonal skills, oral and written, and negotiation skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Valid driver license, good driving record, meet state insurance requirements. Access to reliable vehicle for daily field work; availability 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Inspectors must be able to pay business expenses upfront and be reimbursed within a reasonable time, per CGI expense policy. Compensation and Benefits CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The current estimate is $34,300.00 – $76,100.00. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
