Automation Controls Technologist

Baxter seeks an Automation Technologist to provide technical support to engineering and manufacturing teams at its Round Lake facility. The role involves troubleshooting automation systems, managing technical projects, and implementing equipment improvements to ensure reliable operations.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot automation systems including PLCs, servos, robotics, and HMIs under engineering guidance
- Diagnose and repair mechanical systems in automated and conventional manufacturing equipment
- Manage medium to large scope technical projects and track progress
- Investigate equipment issues, analyze root causes, and recommend improvements
- Prepare standard operating procedures for electrical control and mechanical systems
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- 1+ years experience as engineering technologist or related technical role
- Ability to work in Penicillin/Cephalosporin facility
- Project management capability and technical task coordination skills
- Familiarity with TQM, Lean, or Six Sigma methodologies (preferred)
- Experience with CAD or 3D design tools (preferred)
Compensation: $76,000-$104,500 base annually
