Speech Language Pathologist Assistant in Sugar Land, TX

Exciting contract opportunity for a licensed Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) is available, supporting students at two campuses on the east side of Houston. This role requires working across both a high school and a middle school, with a focus on optimizing speech and language development within the school environment. If you thrive in dynamic school settings and are ready for immediate placement, this position could be the perfect fit.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Texas SLPA license (must be in hand at the time of application)
- Previous experience working as an SLPA in a school setting is required
- Demonstrated reliability and commitment to travel between both designated campuses
- On-site presence required; remote options are not available
- Dependable transportation and confirmed commute feasibility to both school locations
- Comfortable completing HISD fingerprinting within the first three days of contract signing
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech-language services to students under supervision of a certified SLP
- Implement individualized education program (IEP) goals in classroom settings
- Document student progress and maintain detailed records in compliance with school policies
- Collaborate with educational staff and families to promote optimal communication outcomes for students
- Travel daily between Furr High School and Edison Middle School, maintaining flexibility and punctuality
Additional Insights:
- Contract dates: Start ASAP through late May 2027
- Candidates will be reimbursed for the cost of purchasing a laptop for school use
- HISD fingerprinting must be initiated and paid for independently within the first three days
- Compensation is competitive, reflecting specialized school-based SLPA skills
