Software EngineerPayPal, Inc. seeks Software Engineer in Scottsdale, ArizonaJob Duties: Design, develop, test, and release software using Java in a Linux/Unix environment. Work on multiple product features without guidance. Propose technical solutions for new and revised features based on an emerging understanding of the product and business domain. Manage individual project timelines, priorities, and delivery. Actively participate in design and code reviews. Train staff new to the team. Implement tasks within the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), receiving structure and oversight from more experienced staff. Contribute to software code and design reviews. Partial telecommuting permitted from within a commutable distance.Minimum Requirements: Master's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field. Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering or a closely related field plus three years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.Special Skill Requirements:Object-oriented, Java-based backend software developmentSpring Framework technologies for building backend servicesDesign and development of RESTful APIs for microservices and distributed systemsRelational and non-relational database technologies including MySQL or MongoDB or OracleCloud-based application development and deployment environments across multiple cloud providers such as AWS or GCP or AzureVersion control systems like Git and CI/CD pipelines like Jenkins or HarnessData modeling, Data Transfer Objects (DTOs), and API design patternsExposure to multiple programming languages and frameworks including experience with Python, Golang, or JavaScript to enable effective cross-team collaboration and system integration.Additional Responsibilities & Preferred Qualifications :EOE, including disability/vets.The base pay for this role will depend on where you work and the relevant experience and expertise you bring. The expected range of pay for this role by location is:Primary Location | Pay Range:Scottsdale, Arizona | Salary: $106,278.00-171,500.00 per annum. 40 hours per week; M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.Additional compensation for this role may include an annual performance bonus, equity, or other incentive compensation, as applicable.Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
