Job Summary:
The ICU Cardiovascular (Intensive Care Unit Cardiovascular) registered nurse position is located in Schenectady, New York. This role involves providing specialized critical care to adult patients, including those in shock requiring hemodynamic monitoring and patients undergoing cardiac surgery procedures. The candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care within a state-of-the-art critical care unit, with a focus on cardiac and thoracic surgery cases.

Job Details:

• Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts (7p-7:30a) with 30-minute unpaid break.
• Schedule: Nights, 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification from AHA (American Heart Association) or American Red Cross, current New York State nursing license, minimum of 2 years of clinical experience with at least 1 year in the specialty of cardiovascular intensive care, and hospital experience directly following cardiac surgery such as CABG surgeries, valve surgeries, Swan-Ganz catheter management, and intra-aortic balloon pump management.
• Preferred Qualifications: Prior travel experience is preferred but not required; candidates with experience straight from the operating room to ICU are highly ideal.
• Float: Float rotation may be required to step-down and medical/surgical units as needed.
• Additional Information: The position requires candidates to have cardiac surgical experience and skills, including management of patients with complex cardiovascular conditions. The unit is equipped with advanced cardiac care resources, and the nurse must be comfortable managing patients in critical cardiovascular states in a state-of-the-art setting. The start date is scheduled for 09/28/2026.
