Heavy Duty Tow Truck Driver 

Position Summary  

Salson Logistics is seeking a reliable, safety focused Heavy Duty Tow Truck Driver to perform vehicle recovery, towing, roadside assistance, and transportation services. This role involves responding to service calls, securing and transporting disabled vehicles, and delivering excellent customer service while following all company policies and DOT regulations.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Operate heavy duty tow trucks and recovery equipment safely and professionally.

• Respond to dispatched service calls including breakdowns, roadside assistance, and accident recoveries.

• Assess vehicles and determine the safest towing or recovery method.

• Load, secure, transport, and unload vehicles following company safety standards.

• Provide basic roadside assistance (jump starts, tire changes, lockouts, fuel delivery).

• Complete all required paperwork, inspection reports, and service documentation accurately.

• Perform daily pre trip and post trip inspections.

• Maintain cleanliness and operational readiness of assigned equipment.

• Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, law enforcement, and repair facilities.

• Follow all DOT regulations, traffic laws, and company safety procedures.

• Assist with after hours, weekend, holiday, and emergency response as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.

• CDL A required.

• Experience operating Heavy Duty Tow Trucks required.

• Basic mechanical and troubleshooting skills.

• Strong customer service and communication abilities.

• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift, push, pull, and secure heavy equipment and vehicle components.

• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

• Ability to stand, bend, climb, and perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods.

• Ability to work on call schedules, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
