Geologist/Environmental Scientist

Sovereign Consulting Inc., a rapidly growing environmental consulting and remediation firm headquartered in Robbinsville, NJ, is seeking a Geologist / Environmental Scientist (1-3 years of experience) for its Hauppauge, NY location. This position will require travel within New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. Responsibilities: Groundwater monitoring and well sampling using various sampling techniques Oversight of soil borings, monitoring well installations, and underground storage tank removal Soil vapor intrusion investigations and indoor / outdoor air sampling Preparation of analytical data tables and graphs Assist with report preparation Requirements: 1-3 years of environmental consulting related experience is required A Bachelors or Masters degree in Geology or Environmental Science required OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER Certification required, and current 8-hour refresher preferred Demonstrated technical writing skills Must have excellent communication, analytical, and field sampling skills Experience with field meters (oil/water interface probe, PID, water quality meters) Ability to work in a team environment Willing to travel primarily within New York State Employment at Sovereign is contingent upon the results of a Drug & Alcohol screening test and a pre-placement medical evaluation that determines candidate’s ability to capably and safely perform the proposed job duties. Candidates must present documentation that confirms identity and eligibility for employment in the United States and a valid driver’s license. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
