Vice President, Construction Management

This OpportunityWSP is currently initiating a search for a Vice President, Construction Management engineer for our Indianapolis, IN office. Be involved in projects with our Construction Management Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges.Your ImpactBring a “best practice” mindset with an eye to constant improvement and quality in delivery of work product including developing comprehensive quality plans and working with independent internal and client quality assurance teamsPerform marketing and networking activities to develop and maintain strong client relationships, expand work, assist with developing strategic teaming partnersDevelop staffing plans and schedules to meet task requirements, delivering technical excellence and quality work in accordance with project schedules and budgetsDevelop pursuit plans to gain new clients for construction management and inspection servicesParticipate in alternative delivery project deliverables for clients such as constructability reviews, claims analysis, contract document drafting, and other related tasksManage and oversee transportation construction projects as the project manager or principal-in-chargeAssist in the delivery of medium-to-large construction projects as well as local infrastructure projectsPerform business development for current and new clients across Indiana while maintaining a balance of hours towards billable workReview work in accordance with applicable codes and standards included in the project drawings and specificationsResponsible for quality control of field engineering, contract administration, inspection, testing, and surveying on projectsAid with quality management processesApply diversified knowledge of construction engineering principles and practices and independently make decisions on significant construction engineering problemsDevelop and maintain team inspection standards at high quality level of deliveryExercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.#LI-TD1Who You AreRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in civil engineering or relevant field; or equivalent experience/education combinationMinimum of 12 years of experience including INDOT project experience with specific, demonstrated Project Manager / Construction Engineer experience on major projects Professional Engineer registration (PE)Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong client relationshipsDemonstrated experience in the role of construction management marketing, Project/Construction Manager/Resident EngineerAbility to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as part of a team to meet business objectivesDemonstrated team building and verbal/oral skillsAble to foster collaboration between technical and management teams working from other locationsWell-defined knowledge of relevant construction codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirementsAnalytical mindset with an ability to exercise sound judgement in evaluating situations and making decisionsStrong interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to a technical and non-technical audienceProficient self-leadership with attention to detail, accuracy, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environmentAbility to travel for work when neededProven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policiesValid state driver’s licenseMust successfully complete and pass WSP’s Motor Vehicle screeningMust be United States CitizenPreferred QualificationsExperience with project time sets, estimating and constructability reviewsExperience leading projects with construction values over $50 millionCivil infrastructure (roadway/bridge) construction and/or program management experience with medium to large size projectsKeen understanding of pursuit management and client relationship buildingExperience with local, state, federal and transit organizations in the state of IndianaAbout WSPWSP USA is the U.S. operating company of WSP, one of the world's leading engineering and professional services firms.
