PRN ECT RN - Colorado Springs, Colorado Peak View Behavioral Health is seeking a qualified ECT Registered Nurse to provide nursing care to patients undergoing electroconvulsive therapy. The RN will deliver educational and emotional support, participate in pre‑treatment planning and assessment, oversee the procedure, and provide post‑treatment care and evaluation. The position is for part‑time hours on Monday, Wednesday and/or Friday, up to 12 hours a week. Pay Range & Hours Pay: $40.00–45.00 per hour. Up to 12hrs/week (average 2–4hrs per treatment day). Roles and Responsibilities Educate patients and families about ECT. Assist in the informed consent process. Coordinate all assessments, second‑opinion, and medical work‑up. Ensure all work‑up requirements are complete before ECT starts. Maintain patient medical records. Obtain prior authorizations from insurance as required. Prepare the treatment area, supplies, and medication for ECT. Set up IV administration equipment and prepare patient for treatment. Apply EKG leads, BP cuff, pulse oximeter; enter data into Mecta and Nihon machines. Apply electrodes per physician order; monitor machine readouts and vital signs. Support patient limbs during seizure as needed. Observe and record seizure time. After treatment, monitor vital signs and mental status, orient patient, manage IV, and administer oxygen if indicated. Provide reassurance regarding memory loss. Remain with patient until fully awake and oriented and discharge criteria are met. Document discharge instructions and complete all treatment‑related documentation. Prepare records for next treatment session. Education / Experience / Skills Graduation from an approved or accredited school of nursing. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Two or more years of nursing experience in a clinical setting; behavioral health/psychiatric/addiction recovery preferred. Knowledge of psychotropic medications and medication administration procedures. Licenses, Certifications & Designations Valid current RN license from the state or compact state. ACLS certification required or obtained upon hire. Certified in Psychiatric Nursing preferred. BLS, de‑escalation, and restraint certification required (training available on hire). First aid may be required based on state or facility requirements. Work Location Onsite at the facility; not a remote position.
