Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Advanced Care/EMU night shift position requiring IL RN licensure and Epic charting experience.

Details

• Work in the Advanced Care/EMU unit of a hospital setting, monitoring EMU patients 24/7 for seizure activity
• Collaborates with critical care team and hospitalists for Advanced Care patients
• Uses whiteboards, hourly rounding, and bedside shift report to maintain communication with patients and families
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, 3 days per week, 36 hours weekly
• No on-call responsibilities
• No floating required
• 5 weekend shifts required in a 6-week schedule period
• Every other holiday coverage required

Requirements

• Active Illinois state RN license in good standing
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association)
• Minimum of three years of relevant nursing experience
• ASN required, BSN preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• Level 1 Trauma experience required

Additional Information

• Serves as the primary caregiver responsible for a designated group of patients, utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care
• Completes initial patient assessments and develops individualized care plans based on patient and family needs
• Maintains accurate and up-to-date documentation to support interdependent care within the healthcare team
• Reports and corrects safety hazards to ensure patient and employee safety
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for the position
• RTO not to exceed 7 total days within the 13-week contract
• Candidates who have been on assignment with this health system for more than 1 year must take a 6-month break in service before returning
