Job Summary
Registered Nurse, Emergency Room. This position provides routine and complex nursing care in a very high-acuity setting involving stroke, cardiovascular, diabetes, wound, behavioral health, sepsis, and trauma cases. The role requires independent clinical judgment, patient and family education, medication and treatment administration, and coordination of care for assigned patients.
Job Details
- Schedule: Night shift, 7:00 PM7:00 AM, 36 hours per week; every other weekend.
- Required Qualifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA); Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA); Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA); de-escalation certification; and a registered nurse license in the state of employment or a compact-state license.
- Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
- Additional Information: Provides care in a very high-acuity unit with an approximate 4:1 nurse-to-patient ratio. Responsibilities include assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation, medication and treatment administration, monitoring treatment effectiveness and side effects, documentation, patient and family education, and delegation of care. No on-call requirement. The position may involve caring for patients with strokes, cardiovascular conditions, diabetes, wounds, behavioral health needs, sepsis, and some trauma cases. Security is available onsite 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Blue scrubs are required.
