Certified Pharmacy Technician

Location: 11100 Euclid Avenue, CLEVELAND, OH 44106 Duration: 4 months contract

Pay Rate: $30/hr

12 openings (6) for each shift Day and evening shifts of Monday - Friday and weekends as needed: Day shift: 6 am-2:30 pm & Evening shift: 2 pm - 10:30 pm, ASAP for 4 months

Hourly pay rate of $30/hour and Bill rate of $45.00/hour

Requires: Certified IV trained technicians. National Pharmacy Technician certification and Ohio Board of Pharmacy registration required.

Interview with UH managers via 30 - minute zoom.

Position Summary: The Pharmacy Technician 2 is accountable for assisting pharmacists in the retrieval, processing, preparation and distribution of medications and sterile products for patient administration. These activities include but are not limited to: (1) unit dose medications and IV admixtures; (2) parenteral nutrition; (3) floor stock pharmaceuticals; (4) controlled substances; (5) and other defined systems. The Technician 2 functions in all aspects of drug distribution that do not require the professional judgment of a pharmacist. All assigned activities are performed under the direct supervision of the Pharmacist and Pharmacy Manager.

Essential Duties: 1. Accurate preparation of patient medications including sterile products, chemotherapy, unit dose, cartfills, TPN, narcotics 2. Accurate and timely delivery of patient specific medications 3. Timely delivery and retrieval of patient medications 4. Inventories, replenishes, and maintains drug stock which includes automated dispensing cabinets 5. Adherence to Dept. Policies 6. Assist the Pharmacist with medication/patient care related issues

Education/Expertise: High School diploma or equivalent required. Good communication skills are essential. Required Credentials, License and/or Certifications: National Pharmacy Technician Certification and Ohio State Board of Pharmacy registration required

Experience & Knowledge: Prior experience, as a pharmacy technician in a hospital or community setting or graduation from an accredited pharmacy technician program is required. Understanding of metric system and basic math concepts is required. Special Skills & Equipment Knowledge: Personal computer, Pharmacy computer systems, TPN compounders, automated dispensing cabinets, calculators, facsimile machine.
